National Deaf Technical And Vocational Academy

The National Deaf Technical and Vocational Academy (NDTVA) is SANDA’s flagship technical and vocational education initiative, established to expand access to quality, industry-relevant skills development for Deaf people across South Africa.

Recognising the barriers that many Deaf learners face in accessing vocational education and employment, the Academy provides practical, career-focused training aligned with industry needs and nationally recognised occupational qualifications. Through accessible teaching and learning environments, the Academy equips Deaf students with the technical knowledge, workplace skills, and confidence required to participate meaningfully in the economy.

By working in partnership with business, government, training providers, and industry, NDTVA seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment while contributing to a more inclusive, skilled, and productive workforce.

The Academy reflects SANDA’s commitment to economic empowerment, lifelong learning, and creating sustainable pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance for Deaf people.
